New paper proposes treating entangled particle pairs as persistent communication infrastructure rather than consumable resources

ALBION, IN - August 14, 2026 - Ryan Atkinson, an independent researcher and founder of Logic Labs, has published a new theoretical framework for quantum communication that challenges a core assumption in the field. The paper, titled "Continuous-State Entanglement Communication: A Theoretical Framework for Non-Collapsing Quantum Data Transmission," is now available on Academia.edu.

The 24-page paper introduces what Atkinson calls the "idle-state carrier" model. In conventional quantum communication proposals, entangled particle pairs are consumed upon measurement. Each transmission destroys the connection. The CSEC framework proposes an alternative: encoding data as sub-collapse perturbations detected through continuous weak measurement, preserving the entangled pair as reusable infrastructure rather than a single-use resource.

"Every existing proposal treats the entangled pair as something you spend," Atkinson said. "This framework treats it as something you keep. The pair becomes a persistent channel, not a disposable token."

The paper spans 9 sections with 33 citations drawn from peer-reviewed quantum information research. Section 4 presents the original idle-state carrier concept, including a three-parameter deviation encoding model based on amplitude, duration, and frequency modulation of sub-collapse states. The framework also addresses connection integrity monitoring and proposes methods for verifying channel stability without collapsing the entangled state.

Four independent AI analysis systems reviewed the paper prior to publication. All four validated the physics foundations and identified the no-communication theorem boundary discussed in Section 7.1 as the primary area requiring formal mathematical proof through reduced density matrix calculations.
